Information for Minor Oral Surgery and Implant Referrals

High Street Dental Practice offers a comprehensive minor oral surgery and implant referral service for your dental practice.

We are a practice that has been well established in the area for over 20 years and will provide high quality care for your patients and stress-free service to you as the referring practice.

When treatment is complete your patient will be discharged back into your care with all x-rays taken and comprehensive clinical notes of the treatment carried out.

Treatment and Facilities

We can offer sedation for the more anxious patients.

We can normally successfully treat patients that have had unsuccessful treatment elsewhere.

Full Implant Service – from single to complex cases including Sinus Augmentation and all forms of bone grafts.

Our Oral Surgeon

Dr Meenal Karania – Oral Surgeon

BDS (Hons), MFDS RCS (Eng), MClinDent (Lond) & MSurgDent (RCS)

Meenal is registered with the General Dental Council as a specialist in Oral Surgery. She graduated in 1999, Proxime Accessit to the University of London Gold Medal, after which she spent four years as a hospital trainee in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, gaining extensive experience in both out-patient and in-patient surgery. During this time she completed her membership examinations of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

In 2007 she completed a three year specialist training programme in Oral Surgery at Guy’s and Kings College Hospitals London, during which she became expert in all aspects of Dento-Alveolar surgery and obtained Master of Clinical Dentistry (Surgical Dentistry) as well as Intercollegiate Membership in Surgical Dentistry. She has also completed the Straumann Advanced Implantology Course and has many years of experience in the surgical placement and restoration of dental implants as well as bone grafting and is currently working towards a Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

As a Specialist Clinical Teacher in oral surgery at Kings College Hospital, she has been actively involved in clinical teaching of both undergraduate and post-graduate trainees as well as being an examiner. She has a very caring and gentle approach to all of her patients and is experienced in using sedation techniques for anxious patients undergoing dental treatment.

Meenal has worked for dental charity organisations in Brazil, The Philippines and Kenya. She remains committed to continued professional development, attending regular courses and conferences and is a member of the following organisations:

Dr Karania is married and has a young family who keep her very active. She loves the outdoors and enjoys taking long countryside walks and travelling.
